Concrete Scanning and Post-Tensioned Cable Locating in Casino

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has worked several times for the John E Green Co. on the new Greektown Casino Hotel project in downtown Detroit, MI. The hotel is a new 30 story cast-in-place concrete structure with post-tension cables. John E Green is the lead mechanical contractor on the job and has needed to move and add several hole penetrations for their piping.

John E Green has hired GPRS to scan and locate the post-tensioning cables prior to moving and drilling any new holes that have needed to be made. John Kessinger from GPRS - Toledo Division has been the lead project amanger on the job and has marked out post-tensioning at an estimated 30-40 locations. All of the locations have been drilled without striking any of the post-tensioning cables.

Due to the success of the work Ground Penetrating Radar Systems has provided to John E Green, lead electrical contractor Motor City Electric has asked GPRS to layout post-tensioning as well.

The high-resolution GPR equipment used by GPRS and the experience of their technicians has resulted in an excellent track record for mapping out post-tension cables and rebar in concrete floors. GPRS services are usually available in 1-3 business days and sometimes available in the same day as when the call was made.
